After blitzing the pop and dance charts and earning a Grammy nomination in 1978 for his pair of anthems: 'Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me' and 'Dance With Me'. Peter Brown followed up with 'Stargazer' and this single 'Crank It Up (Pt 1) which was a Top 5 disco hit but not on the pop charts sadly. A few more releases followed but Peter is also well known for co-writing 'Material Girl' for..... well The Material Girl. I had this mp3 in my collection as I scour the year 1979 and dig out little gems that perhaps most folks have forgotten about or never discovered! I have over 500 songs for 1979 alone! Every genre - 7 inch, 12 inch. I think it was a great year for pop music; especially disco as it flooded the market, but never really went away - thank goodness. CRANK IT UP!
