Living as You Always Have

Lie awake in the dark when the day is over
As I always have
It's almost the past but not quite the future
And tomorrow I'll be one day older
And I'll stand the same as I always have

And I'm aware that when I sleep tonight
Every dream that I have
Will be gone with the light of the morning
When a new day has come at last
And I carry myself on living

And when I pull my head out of the pillow
And I take the first look at the day out of the window
And the view doesn't look one day older
It stands the same as it always has

And I'm aware that when today is over
And in between all the thoughts I'll have
Disappear by the time the light is gone
But I'm grateful when I had them

Bored by what's in front of me
