To pass through the eye of their
needle and arrive at some gate of reward
To live at odds with the truth - blinkered, bound and gagged

To rest, work and play inside the barricades and facades
Forever under watchful eyes

Inside the straight and the narrow, ceremonies of opposites
No slim pickings for aggressors clothed as victims

To view the skewered through each filtered lens
And not sense the vultures amongst the plebes

To their very marrow, usurp all dissidence
Lost to smoke and mirrors when the masters look like victims

To defeat the spirit, subsumed to the innermost
Our fatal flaw inherent, a weighted consequence

Hegemony hammer home illusions of consent
Dystopia ad nauseam aggressors clothed as victims
