blacktop soft beneath the sun by the buildings
now the liquor store i'm going inside gonna get me a coke
it's end of work time down at the liquor store
guys cashing their checks trying to buy coke on the sidewalk

it's almost night and i just might head
to the strand down by the sea at the edge
