Midwest Morning

Another Midwest morning under a dark gray sky
Shadowed by these memories and so many goodbyes
A pint of whiskey a warm embrace we take our separate roads
Will these paths converge again well no one really knows
My guess is that we'll meet again and I'll lay my money down
Days go by and times will change we'll stand on common ground

This one's for all our friends the old and the new
The good times that we've shared and all that we've been through
The next time we meet we'll raise a pint or two
Our friends until the end

Yeah we had different dreams but we had each other's back
We made a silent pledge and took our separate paths
Knowing that the day would come where we'd end up again
At this place we started cause this journey never ends
And the thing that matters most when across this world I roam
Is that I've got dear friends like you and a rowdy drunkin home
