Cruel Night

Eyes open, surrounded by darkness.
How much longer can I hold on.

Fighting off the son of Hypnos,
Losing and making way for Thanatos.

This paradoxical imagination,
Shows me the blood and this scene over and over.
The actors change, the emotions stay the same,
In the morning, the faces that make the front page.
Is it through my sleep that I see this reality?

Immobile spectator or clairvoyant?

Is it through my sleep that I bring about this cruelty?
That I kill these innocent people?
Or is that the time when my mind travels through the obscurity, To inhabit another body with no soul?
Cruel night, will I forever be your prisoner,
Or will I find the strength to change my own future?
