Unspoken Actions

My consciousness evades me
Haunted by a vast stillness

Comforting in its familiarity
Yet disorienting

Chapped lips part in agony
As unheard cries escape them
Deafening the neverending chatter of my mind

A passageway looms afront

Eyelids flutter shut
As I lower myself to the cold cement
Warmth envelopes me
In its gooey scarlet form
