Ragged Rain Life

A taste of wine, and a bedroom full of ashes
And a swirl of rain across the morning
I turn to the child of falling light
And I knew that I
Lay entangled in her ragged life

Hiding her wild eyes beneath her long lashes
She said "I see you still fall in love with faces"
And I laughed at the child of falling light
Though I knew that she was right
I was a stranger in her ragged life

I am never safe from her sad way of laughing
I tried to move but my head was full of memories
And the rain was still dancing
And the wind swept the darkness in
As I turned away from her ragged life
