Rain on the rail,
freezing to die and I swear that I can't go.
What did you find out on the line in the wind
and the snow?

Rain on the rail in a cloud before she left,
keeping the drugs you love
while your lover's bereft.

I can't tell if it's morning or if it's night.
It's all the same,
taking the blame feels like nothing all the time.

Rain on the rail,
I just sit here and wait,
thinking just about bad blood.
Cold wind haunted all the treetops
and the leaves fall down, down, down
into the mud.

I can't tell what will come after this.
Keep on thinking I waited to try once
I wasn't such a mess.

Cold wind, Black Mountain hollow,
I ain't never been out to the sea.
