These predatory larvae
Frantically squirming to satisfy
Their hunger for sustenance
Bursting forth from the dirt
With their salivating jaws

The worms have come to feast

Furiously tracking the prey above the ground
Every step taken closer to ingestion
Cylindrical bodies carving through the earth
Their heads contain no eyes and no souls
