A New Plight

We are drawn to the dark
Were we seek our new arc
Behold genius and dread
All is twisting our heads

We nurture our soil
We think all alike
Shaped in the same mold
Truth hard to behold

In the dark we see light
All becomes a new plight
Awarness awakes
In this flood of insight

The darkness within us helps us escape
Deformed beings we are bent out of shape
Try to hide from this plight
That disturbs our inner night
Our reflections connect with the light
We are not the only ones there

Imperfections awakes us
Nothing seems to be right
Can't ignore what has made us
Become creatures of night

Eyes must slowly look forward
Gaze into our abyss
All we touch ends up useless
If we don't loosen our grip
