Inner Evil

Fear prevails, fear takes shape
Fear becoming even more acute
Reigning state of oppressive terror
Despair consumes the wretched thought

Mystical horror
Unknown
Beyond any physical pain

In spite of all the protests of reason
Although its exceptional clarity
It is unheeded
It becomes useless
Inward division intensifies the agony

It comes to me
And stands before me
Undeniable fact
Passing all understanding
Hideous, dreadful, relentless
Anguish of people
Who are afraid of death.

Outside
The natural order
Of suffering

Unnatural vagueness of apprehension
Draining every drop of blood
Desire to run
To escape from this life
Mind lost all power of resistance

It comes to me
And stands before me
Undeniable fact
Passing all understanding
Hideous, dreadful, relentless
