The Serpent Maligned

You follow the devil with all of mankind
You hate what you fear with no reason or rhyme
Seduction and glamour draw fools throughout time
And still no one cares for the serpent maligned

Human venom has poisoned the snake
A marvel of nature a symbol of hate
A horrible fiction denied of the facts
And nobody cries when the snake is attacked
I think it's time
That we respect the serpentine

And who are we to judge them?
We are the forked of tongue
And whisper to each other
As evil deeds are done

And who are we to hate?
The aggressor is mankind
With poison tides we kill them
