The Edge of Town

Late night I wonder
Where could they be
The coldness of the silence
Fills my head with screams

Thirteen people missing
Gone without a trace
No footprints or signs of struggle took place
Only a pretense from creeps in alleyways
Whispers and murmurs, why did I take this case

Then it came to me
Pictures, like in a dream
Fragments of the missing
Like someone else's memories
I hear a voice inside my head
A language I don't comprehend
I feel uneasy nausea
My gut tells me where to go

So I followed them to the woods at the edge of town
And set up a perimeter to see whos
Behind the tragedies

The slightest movement caught on camera three
It chilled my bones at the sight of what I saw
Slender being
Almond eyes
Somehow it knew it was spotted and vanished

My heart racing
This is no mortal man
Local investigation worthless
Tell my wife I love her
For tonight might be my last

As I close in, To the
Presumed cave, Where it
Is taking refuge, Hiding
The victim's bodies, Hopefully
Alive and breathing, Not a chance
I see a faint glow, Emanating
From the cave entrance, Ominously

The stare down could have killed me from the tension, it moved so fast
I couldn't even breath before it got to me, it struck without mercy

Everything goes black
All I feel now is cold
As I awaken I'm petrified
Blinding glow stings my eyes
Encased in crystal cages
Over a dozen missing people
I somehow manage to free my legs
Adrenaline and my pistol help me escape

As I flee to the cave entrance
