Numinous Catastrophy

Flux of shame and exultation
Inner intoxicating, delightful tremor
Warmth and mellowness in defeat
In it the sense of victory

Lost all faith in inspiration
And miraculous veneration of truth
Uncontrolled and entangled
Perpetually confused

A lifeless form of life
A spiritual lust

We hunger for esoteric nourishment
Primordial prior prevailing delusion
Of salvation of the soul
Delusions freed in malign

Inspired onslaughts of skeptics
And outer restlessness
The extinction of morality
And the spirits from the past

The harsh the powerful the impetuous
Oh the potent wretchedness
We bear onward the banner of enlightenment

And celebrate the destruction of Christian dogma
The devious web-weavers bewilderment
As they succumb to their own malediction
The diminished and uprooted, Imago Dei

And maggots in life's bread
