Bigger Than Me

Its Christmas time in the city a candle burns inside
Children laugh praying Christmas come tonight
There's a noble tree with a star on top
A hundred gifts adorn the floor
But still the children pray sunrise brings some more
A fire burns till it warms the night
A cup of joe and a slice of pie
Belly full but still hungry inside, belly full but still empty inside

Is this all it was meant to be? Colorful lights and a Christmas tree?
All my life I believed, it could be what I want it to be

And just outside on the city streets poverty wins the fight
A family kneels praying "Jesus come tonight."
Cuz tribulation blew in like a hurricane
But no rain came to wash the pain away
No bread tonight but they feel his life inside,
no bread this time but they feel his life inside
