Abandon Ship

I've got a list of pros and cons I made last year
It's never been a help for me to choose
It's dated on the bottom to dictate when it was made
To see how long I'd handled the abuse

All set to rest on self-inflated laurels
Which in itself could prove
That there's little left to do
All covered black and blue
It's time to accept what I always knew
