๐ Lyrics
Says to pick the best
And you are it
Hey
All our troubles gone
Like when we were young
Take me back to where we all began
Infinity was a fun one
I think we wrote it two years ago and it was, like
The dead of winter
We wrote it in our living room
It was a fun one 'cause it was very collaborative
Um, the first thing we-
The first thing Adam actually had ideas for the lyrics to do
A lot of themes, of, like, childhood
Yeah, and, and memory too
And I really liked the idea of Infinity
Because infinity, as, like, a mathematical concept
It's something that's out of reach
We can't really grasp what infinity means
'Cause we have nothing to compare it to
And with the lyrics of Infinity
We wanted to kind of mirror that idea that
There are things that are just out of reach like
Memories that you can't relive and things in the future
And concepts of love that you've lost
And love that you might have again
Right
And our, um
Understanding of infinity as humans is just to enjoy it
And I think we kinda made a song that felt very enjoyable, very happy
Um, very in the moment
Yeah
'Cause that's all we can do as humans and as writers
Right, you have to embrace what you're giving
Yeah, exactly
Uh, it was definitely a very collaborative song
Between the three of us
I actually remember a pretty, uh, funny story about how, the
The chorus was actually written
Ryan had the beat for the chorus and the, the lyrics
And he just couldn't come up with the melody
And I remember, I was lounging on the couch one day, like
Sleeping or something, and Ryan was really frustrated
Because he couldn't come up with the melody
And he just rushes over me with the beat on his phone
And he's like, "Jack, just sing something, sing something!"
Screaming in my ear, and I just went like, "Da-da-da-da-da, da-da-da"
Just to get Ryan kind of, away from me
And that ended up actually being the actual melody of the chorus
And you are it
