A Chasing After the Wind

Things are out of control
But we don't really wanna know
How did we get here
Where did it all go wrong

Our time is running out
Yet we are so meanly proud
Of our blackened hearts
So we would grin and flout

A blackened heart wants more
Since it doesn't know
What it is looking for

It's all been here before
It all will be here again
The earth will remain forever
And we will never change

A novel in macabre vein
Of the world utterly insane
We lust for ravenous ways
To dull the impending pain

Pain is such a greedy metaphor
Since we don't know
What we are looking for
