Bargain Bookshop

I work in a bargain bookshop
Selling nothing you'd ever want to read
I get paid less than the minimum wage
A bit more than a gram of weed

I don't get along with my colleagues
One's Jenny and the other one's Keith
One of em I know from college
The other's only got three teeth

I steal money from my parents
Spend it on a Saturday night
Sundays I feel guilty
From the second that I open my eyes

Last week in Media Studies
Working on a surrealist short
The teacher said: "What's the meaning?"
But it doesn't mean a thing at all

And I never said that I was honest
So I don't know what you heard me say
But I cross my heart - I promise
I haven't had a dream all day

There are things that I'd do different
Sometimes I wish I could
But just because you can do something
Doesn't really mean you should
