Reflections

Rushing
These years are flying by like days
Faster now, going down
Over and over the edge we fall
So far down into the core

These shores may be broken
But the water flows here just the same
So long now
Wearing down
Over and over again

One day we may fall
Remain one
Through it all
One day I will die
Remain strong and one
Through it all

Memories once so solid and clear
Turn to mist as they fall
This is the curse of our time
Caught in the current of life

Here in the surf
The cresting waves
I wallow in time
Counting the days
We all are lost
We are ablaze
Here on the shore
Watching the waves

Life in fast forward
My experience of time
Frantically, wistfully
Wish I could have another look
A second try
And hit rewind
