What We Had Hoped

I had hoped to see
The rain fall down on the sun struck face
And the wind to the sea
Wash away the clouded thoughts before I die

Drifting days just to waste
Overwhelming fear and helplessness
True release, will I know?
If there's still some time to find we hope
