Polar Opposites

I want to give up now, I've already seen how the future is going to be
But that was the old me, bitter and lonely, begging sympathy
And maybe there interest will quickly diminish now that I've learned to breathe
What would it matter. I wouldn't be sadder, I honestly would be relieved
