The Cobbler's Children

I've been shielding what I'm building
Cuz you know that prying eyes are bound to lie
They see me walking get to talking
But these plans I'm cooking up are only mine
How you doing whatchu do when you haven't got a clue
Bout the way the world is working for the poor
I'll be holding up my head, know the score when I am dead
And till then I'm headed right on out the door
Because I heard these words when I was young
And I never did forget
That the cobblers children have no shoes
And the losers kids got nothing left to lose

I can't say much for my luck but it
Doesn't mean that things won't turn my way
I got my ear to the ground and you
Know I'll hear that sound when the
Good times are a coming back to stay
What you're doing all the time is what's working on your mind
So be careful how you're filling up your head
Mine eyes have seen the glory so if you will hear my story
I'll be working on this building till I'm dead
