A Felled Oak

Abandoned by the ones they call kin, traitors
Overreaching hand slashed down in the light
When the whispering ones fail at producing a sound
Vile poison will then fill our souls
And as the axe swung, with every focused blow
The strength of all those who had fallen was lost
Slashing and burning, reaping and sowing 
The leaves will fall to the ground with no hesitation
And as the great oak meets the earth once again
The purpose of our people will be cast into emptiness
