Humongous Fungus

Just because I am bigger than you
Doesn't mean you can walk all over me
But I love when you see me in bloom
And go foraging for my extremities
Don't look for a treatment I'm not a disease
I'm living in thousands of acres of trees
And my tubular filaments grow wild and free

I remember when I was a spore
Just a regular northwestern fungus
But I always dreamed I'd be more
And somehow I wound up humongous
But I'm no record breaker I'm just plain old me
A huge armillaria solipedes
And my thousands of rhizomorphs grow wild and free
