Edge of a Compass

i found a map
buried beneath the floor in my room
could this be
the key to what i've been looking for?
there i was lost, at a bottom of a bottle
winless fights i kept up with myself
they made for a lot of sleepless nights alone
well oh my god
oh my god i tried
so hard to fix me
but i couldn't save myself alone
so should i trust in this map
before my eyes
as it guides me
towards newer and brighter skies?
and now we're falling off the edgeof a compass
in search of something new
we can't see the walls now
cause they're clear to see through
there were lights in the free fall
purple, red, green, and blue
we were headed north,
looking for the 'x',
and then we found it,
so now we've fallen off the edge of a compass
i met a man,
and in his eyes he had mirrors for my disguise
and he looked at me with the saddest smile i'd ever seen
by the way that he spoke
and the way that he moved
it reminded me of someone that i once knew,
but lost to the world and all it's voices
he said "friend, i hate my life...
cause my daughter and my wife,
they left me because i'd grown to cold"
there is hope my friend,
you can see them again,
sail north with me and you'll see...
