The Worm

I stand before the device
And told myself I'd try this time
A thousand years under ice
Is the price we pay for grease and grime

At birth the larvae submerged
I grew up as they fed and purged
Their mucus branded the code
On the inside of my hollow bones
And i never knew what it said

I stood before the device
And gave myself to death this time
The machine twitched so precise
As it vomited genetic slime
And laid it's eggs in my head

Here comes the worm
He is the voice that makes my mouth go dry
He makes me eat
He makes me sleep so long I don't know why
