As I keep growing old
I can see the value of the words
that they once sang to me,
But only now it doesn't seem that
Is there anyway I could ever have known?
I know it's foolish to worship what my heroes say,
Then I'm a fool,
I only have myself to blame,
I feel so stupid about all the time I spent,
Trying to figure out exactly what they meant
I understand they can't spend their whole lives
rehashing old feelings from ten years ago,
Not valid anymore,
But to me those lyrics add meaning to my little life,
I think that I'm an overemotional bore
