The Reappearing Lamppost

I walked out the door
to see if it were safe for me there
I'm lost, alone, too scared to look at my phone
when you were calling

I saw a lamppost on the sidewalk
I got really near it, but it keeps reappearing
to somewhere further,
I reach no longer
so far away, why won't it stay

I hold my breath
A hundred times everyday
cause it feels so nice
just die for a moment
and come back last second
when things just black out
I'll feel you holding me with you again
