Braai in the Middle of England

The year was 1990 and a hundred years had passed
Since Teddy Tindale- Biscoe raised the flag upon the mast
And a hellova lot of water had flown beneath the bridge
And a thousand cold chibulies were waiting in the fridge

They were having a braai, here's mud in your eye

They arrived in cars and taxi's and some of them came by train
Some came from Tasmania and some came from Bahrain
There was a couple of Hollanders, and Yanks and Aussies too
Poms and Yonks and Zimbo's, they were Rhodies through and through

Then someone lit the fires, there was Boerewors and meat
And they cooked their old sosaties with their vellies on their feet
And the smoke it went- a- curling into the English sky
And the locals called the fire- brigade and everyone wondered why

Then chibulies started flowing and they all began to sing
