Long nights locked up (Withers the soul)
"Boy pick your head up" (That's all you've been told)
But the days are looking grim
And the nights are caving in
To a medicated catatonic end
Numbers fill your head up (loose control)
Hypocrites and fools (ruin all you know)
You've got disappearing faith
In this very time and place
And the helplessness is nothing but a waste
All of the darkness down at the bottom
Don't look too dark from here
Keep your eyes on the brick wall
Your foot on the throttle
When you're ready you'll feel no fear
Find out all that it takes (write it all down)
Sign the letter to whoever (you won't be around)
And the ambulance will ring
And your mind will be at peace
