Distant Daylight

A man from the earth
With his light stolen
Burden with a sin to bear
Cast from the whore
of solitude and abandonment
Fooled by the loving grace
of God who left this world
The man hunts for the last drop of his soul
dissolved in the sea of confusion

The tree of life shall not feed its leafs
When roots are pumping only dust from dead lands
The utter struggle of finding a higher sense
Needs the firing will of the heart
But the only memory of cherish
Is whipped with a rod of tears

The act of compassion will turn against the man
Will not feed the hunger of obvious desires
The abhorrence of mercy, eyesore of weakness
The will to rule the world beyond
and its horrifying grandeur
A place sheltered with a flood of fire
The only remembrance of man

No daylight to see
No dawn to come
No peace to be reached
Until the man surrenders
and comes into embrace
Of the pale silhouette of death
