Pantomime

It's not made of myth and wonders
The world outside is harsh and cold
Filled with all these man made monsters
So they told

All these things will feed delusion
Define the stories in her mind
What is real can seem illusion
Their believes just made her blind

From the eye of the beholder
Truth is imposed upon her too
Were these lies used to console her?
All they do is hide what's true

The whole world a pantomime
Played by shadows on the wall
Shades of grey to pass the time
Time she lost she can't recall

The whole world is now deemed fiction
All reality is blurred
Shielded off by their conviction
An attempt to spare the hurt

But through the cracks of her foundation
The light is slowly seeping in
On her road to sure salvation
Toward a new and bright begin
