I was on about my business
When I witnessed you there
Sitting so sad mindedly
Graying in your chair.

Glued down with expectations,
And cemented by despair.
Who can save you from this slumber you're under,
Or tear asunder this pair?

Somewhere in the distance
A mistress is haunting
Cold and solemn melody
Gently she's taunting.

Alone she's partial; half of something,
Like a branch without a tree.
But some violence on these wooden shells should help us
Let this trunk grow free.
