Apparitions

The noise inside my head
They never let me sleep
I try my best to close
My eyes and let my mind drift away in peace
The sounds behind these walls
Have been growing more intense
As if filled with rats and insects
I know they will come, consume me upon my last breath

The apparitions
Shadows dance across the walls
None of which are my own
I can't recall the last
Day I've witnessed the sun's descent
I'm trapped in my mind, All alone
Desolate, my body becomes cold
I know that I'm dying
I know it's too late, I've squandered all hope
Now this is my fate
My limbs are frail and useless
My mouth is dry and toothless
Beckoning, I hear their voices
These formless figures surround my bed, consume me upon death
Upon death
I watch them all consume me upon my last breath
I am the apparition
