Peace of Mind

Every morning when I wake up
With a feeling I can't shake
Like the weight of every decision
Has come back down on me again
I try to move on
Like I know I should
Then I get distracted by the day as it unfolds

Maybe the answer
Lives within some unknown
Something there right before me
Something I've had all along
Where is it hidden
Somewhere tucked away
I've kept it so safe that it's lost without a trace

Maybe there is a better way
Instead of trippin' over thoughts all day
Eaten alive, paralyzed
Slipping away to grey
Find a way to let it go
Ease my mind just for a little while
Maybe, I'll find some peace of mind
Sometimes I sit and wonder
Why I felt that way at all
So many times I've been so sure that
I've taken back all control
Then as the sun starts to rise
I slowly open up my eyes
There it is again, my cold and dark useless friend
