Coyote Cafe

She was a rose they say
Just barely sixteen
A sweet senorita
Her head full of dreams
He was a tumbleweed
Rolling with the wind
But he fell in love with her
And she gave her heart to him
And they danced the night away

She never came home that night
Cause she was afraid
Her father's heart was broke
And he felt betrayed
He vowed to find that man
And call him out
And thought he was slow at hand
He still had no doubt
And someone would die that day

Though he was younger and faster
He took the first shot to the heart
His gun never cleared leather
Cause it was her father
And he couldn't fire back
So the bullet tore them apart

The story's still being told
So their love's not over yet
No one really seems to know
Just what happened then
Some say she disappeared
One night by his grave
