๐Ÿ“œ Lyrics

Uh, I have to apologise for the fact that we're late starting
If you have a ticket, you'll probably notice that on the ticket
It advertises a support band, uh, there is no support band
We tried to get the Bay City Rollers but
Regrettably they were engaged elsewhere

Before we start, ah, a couple of things
Uhm, not for last, I was driving home, ah, three-lane highway
By myself very late at night, listening to Phaedra
And he is one of the great man, and it's really motoring

Driving along with the white lines going past on either sides
The sound of the wheels on the road, and the wind, and Phaedra
A dangerous combination and very exciting one
And if you have a car and you're doing driving
I recommend trying it

Um, another thing about three years ago
Longer than that actually
An LP called Electronic Meditation was released
And we played it on wonderful Radio-One
Where I have a couple of programs twice a week
Ten to midnight Tuesdays and Thursdays 24-7 meters, and-

And from then whenever we played a track by Tangerine Dream
We would get people coming along saying
"Listen, you don't wanna play that sort of thing at all"
"Nobody likes it, it's deeply unpopular"
"It's only loners like you who would get to listen to that thing"

And when Fajra went in LP charts
It was one of the great moments of my life
Because I just had to carry round the paper
And show it to people what it said

Another thing is-
Some of you may remember in 1968 or there about
There was a cup called Middle Earth in Covent Garden
And on a memorable occasion there
I introduced for the first time in this country
Captain Beef man and his Magic Band
And it was a very moving moment in my life, it really was

And this is as moving moment for me anyway
And I'm sure it will a memorable evening for you
So would you welcome please, Tangerine Dream?
