I am an old flat top guitar
Standing in the corner
I get picked on once in a while
When the neighbor's kid comes over

I used to be in a country band
Called the Westernairs
We played dance halls and weddings
Even the county fair

We played all night in those days of old
The Tennessee waltz and Cotton-Eyed Joe
Never been nothing that could ever compare
To the one-night stand at the county fair

It hurts to sit here catchin' dust
With so much inside mе
So I do my best to cooperate
Whеn the neighbor's kid comes to try me

I still remember those golden hands
They made me wail and cry
Feels like I'm still ringing now
From the nights they held me high

We played all night in those days of old
The Tennessee Waltz and Cotton-Eyed Joe
