No one's listening
To the words I sing
No one's watching this
There's nothing to be missed
How I wish I could just call you now
And you'd come to stay around

No one's waiting here
To assuage my fear
No matter where I go
I have nothing to show
But I wish you would just welcome me
When I return
With grim lessons learnt

Saviours roam the lands
In legend, myth and prayer
Sent here to defend
The shining surface layer
But I defy them all
My mask is growing dull
And below I'm withering
