This enraged Eclipse, who, with her Warpack companions
Went to the queen's chambers late at night
To slay her while she dreamt, and then the dark deed was done
The empress of bones called to the Woodsman
"I have slain the Shattering Queen
And I have become the Shattering Queen
And you shall love me with your entire heart"
But upon seeing his queen's blood
The Woodsman, using the same knife
He used to open the serpent long ago
Stabbed deep into his own chest
Eclipse, knowing that Disir could
Call upon the fairies to restore life, begged her sister
"Please, bring the Woodsman back to me"
But Disir would not
"I have lost three loves today," Disir cried
"The Woodsman, my queen mother, and my sister of the viper's womb"
Disir, in unimaginable torment, plucked out one of her own eyes
And replaced it with one of the white
All-seeing eyes from her dead queen mother
Before fleeing into the night aboard her fairies and wolves
