Endless Memory

My eyes have turned to stone
frozen, fixed upon the sand
that seeps between the fingers
of my lovers hand

Each dancing grain I ponder,
Unique flakes of melting snow.
How many tides have come,
my shattered mind will never know.

Through time I kneel unnoticed

Sanity withering away
My lover, never rising
"gone" they say.
(Because I could not stop for death, he kindly stopped for me
The carriage held but just ourselves and immortality)
