Ancestral Lines

I couldn't really see at all
But there was lightning
There were footsteps sounding in the hall
There were screams
To face the night and try to fall
Without fighting
Deep into dream

Hidden in the heart of things
That's where the truth lies
Folds forever blossoming
Petals white
And every time I close my eyes
I see it sparkling
Sweet whirlwinds of light

With the flick of a switch
There were clear shapes
And the awful truth to which
We'd been blind
Memory and grief exchanged
