Up at sheep's bleat
Swift grey clouds
The hurrying wind
Worrying the naked trees

Up at cats scurrying
Sky bruised and swollen
The red bucket waits
To go to the field

Raindrops in the chimney
The wood fire
Spits and crackles
The mountain wind
Buffets the house
Inside
All is calm

Up at frozen solid
Grass crunch underfoot
Hawks circle, scanning for breakfast
Tunnel creatures obligingly emerge
