2 Dollars

Well, he's one of them... cool ones
The way I remember... uh...
He, he was similar to me in a lot of respects, like, uh...
We'd be going through our own...
To put up with a whole lot of mess from people...
I don't like to hurt nobody's feelings
If they ask me three or four times
They just keep bugging me and bugging me
And I keep telling them, I say
"Well, I can't do this... so and so"
Just like a guy asked me for...
A... couple of dollars, maybe I got a couple of dollars in my pocket
Or four dollars in my pocket and I gotta do something with it
He said, "Well, all I need is two dollars,"
And I said, "Well, lookit man," I say,
"You're only going to leave me with two"
And I said, now...
He said, "Well, I'm gonna pay you Friday,"
And them kind of things, and I said,
"Well lookit," I said, "You're gonna cut me way short
And I need the four dollars now!"
And... they just keep bugging you and bugging you
"Well... I'll give it right back sometime tomorrow."
Snap off and I say, "Well, man," I say,
"You really ain't thinkin' about nobody but yourself,"
Or, err...
Sometimes I'll just give them the two dollars,
Just to keep them quiet, keep them off my back
