Well all the games I've been playing are self-defeating
And hold me down a little bit
But as of lately my heart has been skipping beats
And that's one routine that bears repeating

I've been inclined to have a smoke
And drink to wash my worries down
But between the seizures and heart attacks
The constant strain of my thrown-out back
Yeah, I think it's safe to say my luck's run out
And I'm afraid to leave the house

Well I'm ashamed at the way I've been making bets
With assumed invincibility
'cause I'm at risk to the odds that are stacked against me
I'm not immune to the consequences

If there's a balance to be met
I know I've got so far to go
Well I haven't tried to achieve it
'cause it's so naive to believe it
Yeah, I think it's safe to say without a doubt
That I might never make it out
