Coil

Slowly Uncoiling.
This black tape covers my limbs.
Stickily unrolling.
I peel it on a whim.
Beginning with my arms.
And swirling down to my nails.
Sticky situation.
A heavy heart so frail.
I'm hiding.
I'm fighting.
For a way to get away.
It finds me.
It binds me.
Crawls inside.
And drags me down.
I wrap the reel tightly.
As the spool is wearing thin.
Unwinding my heart down my body.
I'm screaming from within.
The colours.
Black and red.
My love has been squandered.
Consciousness drifts away.
My life becomes a blur.
I'm hiding.
I'm fighting.
For a way to get away.
It finds me.
It binds me.
Crawls inside.
And drags me down.
