I know you don't think of the things that I think
Before I turn 'round and say baby, it's okay

There's so much hurt and pain behind your beautiful eyes
Well maybe I won't

And baby I know that you don't think that you are as half as good
As the people who do just the things that they should
But when we follow our own paths we gotta do some trailblazing
One minute of movement for a year of stargazing
But you find it and you come out with a billion horns blazing
It's amazing just to know you're alive

And I know you don't think that I'm leaving over you
And I know that you know I'm not staying for that too
And I know that's not what you want me to do
What do I want? I wish that I knew

And I don't know the future
I can't see the end
I can only predict that we'll always be friends

And we'll grow and we'll change and we'll see you again
Like two seeds blown apart to different places in the front yard
We'll grow towards the sun though sometimes it'll be hard
And we'll grow up the fence and our stems intertwine
We'll share stories if other branches stretching out behind and ahead
Green with life, flowers of brilliant red

We'll laugh at the thought that we could possibly know all we've got
And the idea that everything could possibly ever be said
