The deeds
Of our flesh
Have brought us here
Naked
Raw
Exposed

Trapped inside
The judgment
Meted by the All-Seeing

In hopes that we might gain favor
We still light The Candles of Sacrament
As a final plea before death

We worshiped the wrong Oracles
We mistook The Death Cloak
As regal vestments and
The Harlot's Harem
As The Holy Remnant
The Great Whore
As God, Himself

We erected the monolith
As an homage to The All-Seeing
But tribute became idolatry
And when our prayers went unanswered
Idolatry became worship
Filled with nothing but the withered bones
Of the sainted dead

The misplaced god could never save us
And in the light of the burnt offerings' flames
The Orchard of Blood and Bone grew
Bearing its rancid fruit
For The Spirits of Old to consume

Ever growing stronger
They bided their time
Roiling beneath the surface
Like teeming legions
Of seething reptiles

Awaiting their season
When, at last
We had drifted too far
To fight the furious tide
To reach the shore

Oro pro nobis
All of creation
Is an open womb
A slaughterhouse
Disconnected from reality

Babylon, The Great Whore, is fallen
The world's greatest dynasty
